The new Anthony R. Zembrodt STEM and Fine Arts Center, and the Drees Student and Alumni Center will be dedicated at Covington Catholic High School on Sunday, August 25.
The projects cost $5.72 million, the school said.
There are two new STEM labs, a 200-person auditorium, new officers for the advancement and athletic departments, a new spirit shop, and a new place for students to interact before and after school, and to host alumni events.
The STEM and Fine Arts Center and the Student and Alumni Center complete an overall $10 million "Bright Minds...Bright Future: A Blueprint for Success" capital campaign that began in 2013 and included over 700 donors. The campaign also funded the Yung Family Tennis Complex (completed and dedicated in the spring of 2016) and Dennis Griffin Football Stadium (completed and dedicated in the fall of 2017).
The STEM and Fine Arts Center will be dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker with a plaque that reads, "Consecrate your work to the Lord, and he will cultivate it to bear great fruit." There will be a St. Joseph the Worker statue sculpted in Italy.
