Recollections, CovCath's literary magazine, received a rank of SUPERIOR, the highest award in the 2012 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM). A total of 417 schools entered the program. CCH was one of only two schools in Kentucky to receive this rating.
Faculty advisor, Mrs. Diane Ruth, has worked with students on the literary magazine for sixteen years. She noted, “We have much talent here that many do not get to see. I felt that this was an outlet for students as well as faculty to get something published, whether it was writing, photography or artwork.” Recollections editor Eric Torres is a 2012 CCH graduate. He is a freshman at the University of Kentucky studying Integrated Strategic Communication. Recollections staff included current seniors (pictured from left) Justin Van Dusen, Jimmy Stratman, Max Williamson and Clint Noble.
